Just this evening (Dec 4th) I read an article on the Zero Hedge site by Michael Snyder that was originally on The End of The American Dream blog.
This grabbed my attention because I have recently done a few articles on public education for my Revised History blog spot. All things considered, I felt it was about time to do another one for The Copperhead Chronicle blog, and what more important issue to do one on than what passes for education in this country. Many may feel I have been beating a dead horse regarding the education issue, but Mr. Snyder's article should show folks that this is one horse that needs to be beaten, and it will also show that I am not the only one that feels this way.
Mr. Snyder makes some astute comments on what passes for public education in this country. He says: "How in the world is America supposed to remain 'the greatest country on earth' when other nations are absolutely running circles around us when it comes to education? As you will see below, one survey found that 15-year-old students in China are almost four full grade levels ahead of students in the United States in mathematics. This is one of the most damning indictments of our education system that I have ever come across, and it is yet another clear indication that what we are doing is simply not working. Our children are not being given the tools they need to compete in our modern society, and we have only ourselves to blame. Perhaps you are thinking the survey must be flawed somehow."
Well, not quite. Mr. Snyder noted that this was not some one-horse survey given to a mere handful of students in East Overshoe, Alabama. Snyder informs us that: "Ever three years, the Program for International Student Assessment evaluyates 15-year-old students all over the world in a variety of subject areas, and in 2018 approximately 32 million students participated...when your sample size is 32 million students, I think it is safe to say that the results of the survey should be taken seriously. And what the survey discovered is the U.S. students continue to fall behind in math. In particular, we have fallen way, way behind the Chinese...In addition, the survey also discovered that the 'most disadvantaged' students in China actually performed on a par with the average U.S. student...What in the world has happened to us? We used to have the best education system in the entire world, but now we have become a nation of drooling idiots that can't even think straight."
Other items in this article show that it is in other areas besides math that our students are more than intellectually challenged.
It was noted that "One recent survey found that 74% of Americans don't even know how many amendments are in the Bill of Rights...Shockingly, only 26% of Americans can name all three branches of government...During the 2016 election, more than 40% of Americans did not know who was running for vice-president from either of the major parties...30 years ago, the United States awarded more high school diplomas than anyone in the world. Today, we have fallen to 36th place." And even that last statistic about the diplomas does not indicate how many of the kids that got one really earned one thirty years ago, because our public school system has been systemically broken for lots longer than that.
The material in this article is not presented to we will all see the need to reform the public school system, start attending our local parent/teacher meetings or any of the other blather put forth to preserve and defend our public schools. Quite the contrary. This material is presented so that parents, particularly Christian parents can see, if they have their kids in public schools, that this is a system that will never be fixed or reformed no matter how many millions are poured into it. The more money spent on it the worse it gets. Parents, you need to start grasping one thing. the public school system does not exist to educate your children. It exists to indoctrinate them according to the wishes of the New World Order--so that, in the end, they will belong to the State and not to their families.
I realize that when I was young and attended public schools they had prayer and Bible reading and all the other amenities guaranteed to keep people putting their kids in them. But in due time, all those amenities disappeared and the public school's real agenda is now openly manifested via the Drag Queens, the explicit sex education classes and the rotten excuse for history taught in most of them. You are seeing public education today in its true light--if you are willing to take a look. Again, I am not saying all public school teachers buy into this junk. Lots of them don't, but they are, in a sense, captive to a system that does.
Literally, over the decades, I have spent time documenting the glaring intentional deficiencies of the public schools, so I am not going to go into that here and now. Check out some of the articles about education I have posted on my Revised History blog since 2011. There is a batch of them, some only posted recently. If you want to save your kids' souls, you need to get them out of public schools and into some sort of Christian education. It is as simple as that.
Note: Many of you will have problems getting into this article. The internet censors do not want you to read what I post so you will have to find ways of getting into this. Sometimes you will get a notice warning you against this article, and there will be a place at the bottom of the article that says "details" and often if you go there you can click onto the article regardless of the warnings you get above it. I guess I should assume I am doing something right when the censors try to discourage you from reading what I write.

Public Schools Are A Dismal Failure
by Al Benson Jr.
Today, June 2, 2019, I read an excellent article on the Zero Hedge website. It was authored by Justin Spears via the Foundation for Economic Education. I would urge concerned parents to check it out.
Mr. Spears starts out with: "In the first part of this article set, my colleague Mike Margeson spelled out the historical roots of the American schooling system. He clearly laid out the blueprint that men like Horace Mann used to build a system that does anything but 'educates'." What he is saying here is that Unitarian Horace Mann provided this country with an "educational system" that was, essentially worthless! Seeing that Mann's main intent was not to educate but to downplay the influence of Christian schools in this country, I am not surprised. Mann has a reputation as an inventive educator that is not deserved.
And Mr. Spears continued: "In what was one of many fiery speaking engagements, the late John Taylor Gatto delivered a line that has resonated with me as I have studied the effects the public schooling system has on children. In this particular speech, Gatto was recounting the story of Jaime Escalante, the educator who successfully taught calculus at Garfield High School in Los Angeles yet was forced to resign. As he finishes describing the trials and fate of Escalante, Gatto explains that above racism and other forms of bigotry is the embedded idea that what really occurred was a deliberate attempt to stop genuine learning: Earlier in the speech Gatto laid out a compelling case of how and why schooling is meant to keep citizens ignorant. This success at an inner city school was not going to be tolerated by the establishment. He implored his listeners to understand the real problem and to quit 'fencing with shadows'."
In other words, people needed to get over the naïve idea that throwing millions in public money at public schools was ever going to do any good. All that ever did was to make a bad problem even worse!
Noted by Mr. Spears was the fact that: "Contrary to what those in public education will tell you, the system is flush with cash, which generates very few positive results." Mr. Spears notes that, in 2019, after all the money that has been spent of public education, ...we are still seeing such horrific results in our schools...The answer is much simpler than it has been made out to be. The system is broken. There is no remedy to fix this system. It is fundamentally flawed. The famous saying that you cannot fix a problem with the same mind that created it rings so true. So if reform will not work, what are we to do?"
Again, the answer to this is so simple the educational establishment hopes you never figure it out. You simply need to unschool! He notes that there are several methods to accomplish the task of unschooling, and one of them is homeschooling. This does not mean that you never educate your kids or teach them anything. It means that you do not do it the way the public schools claim to be trying to do it. You, especially if you are a Christian, need to get your kids out of the public school system--a system that has been engineered to keep them ignorant--and they are especially being kept ignorant of their real history and heritage, which is one of the main agendas of public education in our day.
If there is no real way to reform this broken system then it needs to be separated from, seceded from, if you will. Lots of folks don't want to hear this. They need to. They need to begin to realize what is happening to their kids while they are in public schools--and what's happening to them ain't good!
If you can, check our Mr. Spears' article. Don't take my word for it. Find our yourselves.

Lest We Forget

It has been forty four years ago this month, if my timeline is correct, that government (public) schools reopened in Kanawha County, West Virginia to a very slim group of students. Most of the students were kept at home by parents who had major (and understandable) problems with the textbooks their kids were supposed to use that year and they were not about to subject their kids to what many of them felt were pornographic texts.
I've seen copies of what was in some of the books. The parents were right.
This whole situation set off a major struggle over who really controlled what passes for public education in this country--and just to give you a subtle hint--it ain't the parents. Even with Trump's new education secretary, it still ain't the parents. A public school system run by the state will never be under the control of the parents, no matter what you may hear at the parent-teacher meetings.
A public school system is a state school system and our parents, especially our Christian parents, need to be able to get a grasp of this salient fact. Most of them don't have a clue.
As for much of went on in West Virginia during this textbook protest, I would urge you to read a book by Karl Priest called Protester Voices--the 1974 Textbook Tea Party. I believe it's still on Amazon, but if you can't find it there contact me and I will give you Karl's mailing address.
The textbook protest in Kanawha County changed the lives of myself and my family because, even though we lived in Illinois when it started, we ended up in West Virginia while it continued.
The whole situation never would have come to light had not Alice Moore been on the school board. It was her that exposed what was in the books. The other school board members were willing to just go along to get along with the texts that were "suggested" for the students. Mrs. Moore, when she got a look at what was being proposed to feed the kids intellectually, was not. She was on target--the rest of the school board was "out to lunch" so to speak, willing to go along to get along.
Mrs. Moore exposed what was in the books to Kanawha County parents with the help of several local preachers and rallies were held all over the county to alert people to the intellectual swamp that was the public school system. So when public schools convened in the Fall of 1974, most kids stayed home. Not only that, parents started picketing the schools and that meant lots of people, truck drivers included, would not cross the picket lines. West Virginia was a union state and you didn't cross a picket line.
Parents wrote to their state legislators, their national legislators, and whoever they thought would help them get these horrible books out of their schools. No one was willing to do anything. No one did anything. What the parents didn't realize at the time, and I hope they do now, is that no one was going to do anything--ever!
The sleaze-books their kids were to be force-fed were mandated in Washington and that was that. When parents publicly protested they were often met by "peace officers" with billy clubs who enjoyed breaking up the protests by hitting little old ladies (and others) over the shoulder with billy clubs and if they could hit hard enough they often broke the shoulder. They got their kicks doing that. Some were heard to say as much.
Word of the protest eventually got out despite the managed media's attempts to contain it locally. That's how we found out about it in Illinois. There was an article in one of the Chicago papers that really bashed the protesters and it was bad enough that I started watching for more articles with names in them and when I found some I started trying to contact those people to find out what really was going on because, even at that early date, I realized the "news" media mostly lied to us.
We took a trip to West Virginia in June of 1975 and stayed with a fine Christian family there for a week. During that time I interviewed some of the protest leaders and really got an earful. Hard to believe that some of what I heard happens in Amerika, but it did--and does.
The parents in Kanawha County were guilty--of wanting a decent, moral education for their kids. Little did they realize at the time they would never, and I mean never, get that in the public school system. And today it's even worse.
The Deep State of that day (not much different than today's) managed to beat the protest (literally) into submission. Several new Christian schools came out of the protest, but if more Christians had gotten involved instead of sitting it out, the effect could have been greater.
So the textbook protest in West Virginia ended, not with a whimper, but with a billy club whacked over old ladies shoulders. I saw some of them, heard what they had to say about it all. The public schools in West Virginia and other places, are no different today than then except they are busier taking down Confederate flags than they used to be.
If you are one of those whose hope is in the "reformation" of public schools you are dreaming a dream that will never happen, no matter what kind of administration they have in Washington. The educational establishment is dedicated to the cultural destruction of your children and you'd better get used to that idea because that's how it is. If you want anything better for your kids, take them and secede from the public "education" system and educate them at home or find some kind of Christian school you can trust. Homeschool History Series:
A real teaching alternative for Christian, Pro-Southern parents
by Al Benson Jr.
Are you tired of politically correct "histories" of the War Between the States? Want to learn the facts about its true causes, the actual events, and the people involved?
Now there is an educational program available for high schoolers and Mom's and Dads too. Composed from carefully researched facts about the War Between the States it consists of five easy-to-read mini-histories, which provide accurate and key informaton regarding the War that changed America.
Each mini-history, which includes an accompanying test, is $10.00. This includes grading of the test and return to the student if desired, with appropriate comments. You can purchase individual booklets or the entire set by sending check or money order to The Copperhead Chronicle, P O Box 55, Sterlington, Louisiana 71280.
The mini-histories include:
1. Apostasy, Abolitionism, The Civil War and Reconstruction
This explains the root causes of the War Between the States and debunks the myth about slavery as the reason for the War. Describes how the War and "Reconstruction" afterwards were designed to change our system of government into something quite different from what was envisioned by the Founders. (28 pages)
2. The Abolitionists
Spells out the theological convictions of many in the Abolitionist Movement, showing the radical abolitionism was actually a religion; a religion that was a substitute for biblical Christianity. (14 pages)
3. The Socialist Supporters of Honest Abe
This was the foundation document for the book by Al Benson Jr. and Walter D. Kennedy Lincoln's Marxists, which is available on Amazon.com
It reveals the almost totally covered up fact that communists, socialists, and various other European radicals totally supported Lincoln and the Union cause during the War. Several well-known Union generals were actually socialists and some were communists who came here after the failed 1848 socialist revolts in Europe. The author names names. (13 pages)
4. A Theological and Political View of the Doctrine of Secession
Beginning with the Declaration of Independence it presents a history of secessionist sentiment in the United States. Shows that up until 1860 most of the country thought that secession was a legitimate option, and not just the South! (28 pages)
5.Emancipation As Propaganda
This booklet goes into detail about what a sham the Emancipation Proclamation really was and how it was viewed by many, both here and in Europe when it was issued.
For a limited time, all 5 booklets and tests can be purchased at a discount when purchased together at one time. Purchase of all 5 together would be $45.00, a saving of $5.00, and there is no shipping charge.
