Schumer aren't. But Lincoln and Marx--born only nine years apart--were contemporaries. They had many mutual friends, read each other's work and, in 1865, exchanged letters. When Lincoln served his sole term in Congress in the late 1840s, the young lawyer from Illinois became close friends with Horace Greeley, a fellow Whig who served briefly alongside him. Greeley was better known as the founder of the New York Tribune..."

Horace Greeley was also, as Donnie Kennedy and I wrote in our book Lincoln's Marxists, a utopian socialist. But then, a lot of Lincoln's friends were socialists, or communists.

Brockell duly noted that Karl Marx was "intensely interested" in the plight of American slaves. Sure he was! The man who advocated the biggest system of slavery the world has ever known was concerned with the plight of American slaves! Give your readers a break, lady! Most of them except for the "useful idiots" trained to be Marxists know better.

Brockell observed that, like many Republicans, Lincoln was a steady reader of the Tribune and if you think he didn't read the material Marx wrote for the Tribune, nearly 500 articles, then you just ain't paying attention.

It was noted by Brockell that there were two factors that helped Lincoln in his presidential quest--"First, the support of former German revolutionaries who had become key players in the Republican Party; and second, the support of the party's newspaper, the Tribune. Look at what she is telling us here. Two of the main aids to Lincoln becoming president were the help of the Forty-Eighter socialists and communists who had basically infiltrated the new Republican Party and the help of a newspaper run by a utopian socialist. Sounds like most of Lincoln's help came from the political left. You don't suppose the reason for that was that the leftists of that day already knew where Lincoln was coming rom, do you? You have to wonder if Lincoln's comments about labor being prior to and independent of capitol had anything to do with this.

We were also told by Brockell that "Marx was friends with Charles A. Dana, an American socialist fluent in German who was managing editor of the New York Tribune. He was the one who hired Marx to write for the Tribune. And Brockell has told us that, once Lincoln took office, "his alliance with socialists didn't stop. Dana left the Tribune to become Lincoln's eyes and ears in the War Department..." Dana informed Lincoln, among other things, about what he thought of his generals.

Our book Lincoln's Marxists noted, on page 50, that Dana served under Edwin M. Stanton as assistant secretary of war in the Lincoln administration. That was a pretty lofty national position to be held by a socialist in the 1860s. So much for those folks that try to tell us we never had a problem with socialism or communism in this country until the 1930s. Such folks are either naive or they hope the rest of us are.

Arthur R. Thompson, in his informative work To The Victors Go The Myths And Monuments noted of Dana, on page 198 that: "Charles Dana was a vice president of the National Convention of Associations. He was a member of the Prodhonian Club, nicknamed the 48ers of America, composed mainly of Americans who participated in the revolution of 1848-1849 in Europe. In 1848 he spent eight months covering the revolutions for the New York Tribune, and he shared Marx's views. Dana wrote that the purpose of the uprisings was 'not simply to change the form of governments, but to change the form of society.' He did more than report. Dana is but one example of reporters who participated in revolutionary activities and then posed as impartial observers as 'reporters.' This has long been a tactic of the Left, and continues to this day."

Brockell reiterated once more that "Lincoln never took up the mantle of socialism" as if to tell us that we should now ignore all she has told us about Mr. Lincoln and he leftist coterie in Washington. Mr. Lincoln did not have to "take up the mantle. His actions spoke louder than his words. I have long contended that while Lincoln may not have been a Marxist he most assuredly had a socialist worldview and he had no problem whatever with socialists and communists. He was perfectly comfortable around them and their leftist views. The only thing Lincoln ever "emancipated" people from was their God-given liberties--and he was a master at that.
Al Benson Jr.http://www.blogger.com/profile/07117500732087824225noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7292766.post-68118068145541863142021-03-12T18:50:00.001-08:002021-03-30T18:50:41.783-07:00America's Hidden History of "Lincoln's Marxists"Al Benson Jr.http://www.blogger.com/profile/07117500732087824225noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7292766.post-39511331977056002782021-02-28T15:03:00.003-08:002021-03-03T10:02:33.610-08:00The My Pillow Guy
Check out the latest on

https://lindelltv.com

And be sure to watch the video.

Al
Al Benson Jr.http://www.blogger.com/profile/07117500732087824225noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7292766.post-49222238665798807262021-02-11T11:33:00.003-08:002021-02-11T11:37:53.547-08:00John Brown The Terrorist
by Al Benson Jr.

Member, Board of Directors, Confederate Society of America

Recently on my other blog spot I did an article in which I mentioned the name of one of the first terrorists in America, John Brown of Kansas and Harpers Ferry, Virginia "fame." I was taken to task for daring to call "Preacher Brown" a terrorist, and this by a "useful idiot" that seemed to think Brown was some sort of hero because he butchered people that were either slave owners or those he thought might be slaveowners.

Now I never heard anywhere that Brown was ever a preacher, ordained or otherwise. Two of those that supported Brown's terrorist activities were preachers--Unitarian preachers--which is a whole different animal than a Christian preacher.

The best book I ever read about Brown's terrorism was written by historian Otto Scott several years ago now and was called The Secret Six: The Fool As Martyr. and was published by the Foundation for American Education. I don't know if these folks are even still in business or not but you might check out Amazon to see if you can still find the book. Scott gave much valuable information about Brown and those that financially supported his terrorism--a group called The Secret Six. I did articles on each one of the six for my old hard copy newsletter The Copperhead Chronicle, which I am no longer able to publish.

Brown, at least in his Kansas depredations, had the support of two socialist Forty-eighters, a fact that Donnie Kennedy and I noted in our book Lincoln's Marxists.

With socialist and Unitarian support it would seem that John Brown was a tool of the left in his day. It would also seem that he still is. I recently read an article by Ken Braun on https://capitalresearch.org which stated: "John Brown! Live like him' was the rallying cry of John 'J.J. Jacobs, author of the Weatherman Manifesto, a 1969 political treatise that argued for the formation of a revolutionary communist terror sect soon to be known to history as the Weather Underground. John Brown was a hero for Jacobs and other founders of the Weathermen. In 1975, long after Jacobs had left the terrorist bombing organization, the Weather Underground published Osawatomie, a radical left magazine named for one of the military engagements in which Brown led his rebel force of radical abolitionists. So much for the good intentions of "Preacher Brown"!

James Bovard on https://jimbovard.com had an interesting article on Brown up on his site for December 2, 2009.

He said: "He (Brown) was held in high esteem by many great men of his day. Ralph Waldo Emerson compared him to Jesus, declaring that Brown would 'make the gallows as glorious as the cross.' Henry David Thoreau placed Brown above the freedom fighters of the American Revolution. the fact that Emerson and Thoreau turned into cheerleaders for John Brown was among the worst failings for each of them. Both Emerson and Thoreau started out denouncing politics as a snare and a fraud. And both of them fell for Brown and his vision of progress via slaughtering innocent people."

Ralph Waldo Emerson was a Unitarian preacher, so his support for Brown's terrorism is understandable and Thoreau was also a Unitarian. Unitarians have supported leftist causes for generations now.

It just may be time for some of today's well-intentioned "useful idiots" to learn how to do a little homework on their own and check out some of those leftist characters they support. That would be nice, but I ain't holding my breath until it happens.
Al Benson Jr.http://www.blogger.com/profile/07117500732087824225noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7292766.post-40609135297762822782021-01-13T02:16:00.001-08:002021-01-13T02:16:25.197-08:00They Want To Steal Our History
by Al Benson Jr.

Member, Board of Directors, Confederate Society of America

The Deep State and the radical left, globalists all, are trying to steal our history. They do not want us to know our history or understand where we came from and why. They realize, more than we do, that those that have no grasp of their history, culture, and heritage have no real future. They seek to control our history so they can control our future. If they control our future then they control our destiny and then, like all idolaters, they can shape us in their own leftist image.

One way they do this is with false history, like this horrible 1619 Project that is currently used in many public schools now. Donald Trump became aware of this program and sought to deny funding to public schools that used it. I don't know how he made out with that and the recent election that was stolen from him will deny him and opportunity to pursue it further.

Interestingly enough, a writer of Western fiction seems to have had more of a grasp of the importance of real history than most people in our day do. I am referring to the late Elmer Kelton. He wrote mostly about West Texas. He grew up on a ranch in West Texas where his father was a ranch foreman so Kelton knew the history of his area. He was well acquainted with the kind of people and places he wrote about. He was part of it and it was part of him, which is as it should be.

His comments about history were insightful. In his autobiography Sandhills Boy he wrote: "South of the ranch headquarters, in the middle of an open pasture, was the grave of a cowboy killed by horse thieves many years before. Riding by that solemn place, I was reminded of the old song, 'Bury Me Not On The Lone Prairie.' It certainly was lone and lonely. That grave, and the stories the cowboys told, awakened a wonder that stayed with me. They made history come alive. They provided a living connection between past and present, a realization that events of a hundred years ago and more still affect our daily lives, our beliefs and attitudes. They are part of who and what we are. The more we know about them, the better we know ourselves."

Whether we realize it or not, our history affects us because we are all a part of it. I remember, years ago now being told about a man in the South who said "the past is not dead. It is not even past." There is a certain sense in which he was right. The only time history is boring is when it is taught in school and is limited to dates and personalities whose history we do not know. General so and so fought a battle at such and such a place in 1864--period! That is boring history. To make history come alive we need to ask why he fought the battle and what did he believe.

More and more as I have studied history, I have found that Elmer Kelton's view of it is accurate. Our history is part of all of us. I had a Confederate ancestor from North Carolina who was a captain in a North Carolina infantry regiment. Why did he fight? Did he go to war just so he could keep his slaves? I never read about him having any. Or did he go to war because his state was invaded? He lost part of one leg at Spotsylvania. Did he go through that particular hell so he could preserve slavery? I rather doubt that. The majority of the men that fought for the Confederacy did not own slaves and who in his right mind would be willing to endure four years of battle and death so his neighbor up the road apiece could keep his twenty slaves? Yet this is the false narrative we are asked to believe because leftist "historians" so called continue to throw it in our faces and teach it to our children. It's balderdash, which is a nice way of saying it's bovine fertilizer, not history.

And this false narrative has shaped generations of our kids, both North and South. This fake history is used as an excuse to tear down our monuments and desecrate our flags and the Marxists among us love to have it so. As long as they can foist this claptrap on us we do not learn our real history or why our ancestors really fought. When we are taught accurate history that is reflected in how we think today. When we are lied to about our history and truth is denigrated, that affects us also, and not in a positive way.

So those closet leftists that crawl around among us teach us false history and that affects how we view our ancestors and our past and the culture they bequeathed to us. If the leftists can teach us skewed history then that affects how we view our past then they get to decide for us what our future will be because we will not understand our past.

History is not some dead thing that has no effect on us in our lives. History affects how we think and how we view life and what we will teach our kids about their past. If we let the Marxist element control our future via false history then neither we or our kids have any real future. Our future is really their future--a Marxist future.

Years ago when I was in a shop getting some printing done I inadvertently ended up in a conversation with a man that said to me "Communism liberates people." My reply to his foolishness was "May my children never live under the 'liberty' you promote." Now, with a Harris/Biden duo waiting in the political wings my children may yet end up living under some sort of communist "liberty"--something I have fought against most of my life. I sought to teach my kids accurate history. I guess we will have to wait and see who tries to teach their children history.
Al Benson Jr.http://www.blogger.com/profile/07117500732087824225noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7292766.post-47634368598683860482020-12-26T12:00:00.001-08:002020-12-26T12:04:30.538-08:00Preface For A Southern Blockbuster
by Al Benson Jr.

Member, Board of Directors, Confederate Society of America

I received a Christmas present yesterday that I deeply appreciate. It was a copy of Ron and Donnie Kennedy's third and updated edition of their blockbuster book The South Was Right! It had previously been published in 1991 and in 1994. The 1994 edition sold well over 100,000 copies. This new 2020 edition will hopefully do as well. It has been updated so that it reflects exactly where we are, both in the Southern Heritage Movement and in the country at large.

My comments today will deal only with the preface to the new 2020 edition. A full book review will come later as I get into the real meat of the book. But as I sat on Christmas morning and read the preface I felt that it, by itself, deserved some comments as it shows how our leftist adversaries have changed their tactics against us since 1994 and many of us, myself sometimes included, have opposed them still using the same tactics we used over twenty five years ago. Is it any wonder we are losing?

I will quote the Kennedy Brothers here because what they have to say is so relevant. They observe: "Since the 1994 publication of the second edition of The South Was Right an evil, neo-Marxist shadow government has taken control of the United States. The evil, shadow government consists of leftist ideologues in the media, academia, political establishment, and their donor-class supporters both in the North and the South. With the fall of the old Communist world, Marxism changed its form but not its objectives. Neo-Marxists, composed of liberals, progressives, socialists, and other social justice warriors, replaced the older form of Marxism. Today, 2020, they dominate diverse organizations such as the mainline media, digital media, Black Lives Matter, ANTIFA, and other left-of-center organizations." So Marxism has taken on a whole new complexion at this point in time. The question for us is--have we kept pace with them? I'm afraid, at this point, that's doubtful.

The Kennedys continue: "Everything associated with the traditional, conservative, Bible-Belt South has been demonized by the evil, leftist shadow government that now controls America's social and political thinking. Evidence of the effectiveness of this evil, neo-Marxist shadow government can be seen in a 2020 opinion poll. The poll documented that most (77%) conservatives are afraid to openly express their political opinions. The America where freedom of speech and freedom of expression is a Constitutionally protected right no longer exists! This evil, leftist shadow government serves as the propaganda center that supports the Yankee Empire's genocidal policy toward its captive nation--the Confederate States of America. The old North/South bargain or detente where the South agreed to remain passive and patriotic and not attempt to secede again in exchange for nominal control of our local, puppet governments--that agreement has been broken. We did not break the agreement, they broke it! This third edition explains how it happened, but more importantly it explains what the people of the occupied South can do about it."

They tell us: "National Republican politicians cower before the demands of this evil, neo-Marxist shadow government, while national Democrats provide political cover for the left-of-center shadow government's riotous storm troopers. America's once 'free press' is now controlled by postmodern, neo-Marxists who maintain monopolistic control of public information. The mainline and digital media serve as the evil shadow government's ministry of propaganda. These people are ideologically driven, they detest traditional Western Christian civilizations definition of truth, civility, and due process under the law...The cultural genocide directed against all things Southern that we warned was coming in 1994 has now arrived. Today Southerners are the only minority who are forced to allow our enemies to define our culture....We are in the same position as people of all other captive nations. The people of the South, Dixie, or the Bible-Belt are in a struggle for our very survival as a unique people The following questions remain--'Do Southerners still posses the courage to take their stand in Dixie? Do Southerners have the backbone necessary to establish their own provisional government in each state to bring pressure on 'our' wobbly weak-kneed politicians?"

There will be more about provisional and shadow governments in the book and for those who might not have a copy of it you can try to get a copy of Ron Kennedy's book Dixie Rising--Rules for Rebels. Ron deals with shadow governments in the South in that book also. It is time we updated our response to those Marxist types that seek to destroy us as a distinct people and who seek to destroy this country as a whole.

The leftists label us a "reactionaries" because we mostly react to what they try to do to us. It's time we started being proactive rather than reactive and this new edition of The South Was Right! should help us to begin to do that. More on this as I get into the book.
Al Benson Jr.http://www.blogger.com/profile/07117500732087824225noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7292766.post-79012922147277839632020-12-14T14:10:00.003-08:002020-12-14T14:14:55.798-08:00 A "Bully Pulpit" For Louisiana--And by extention for the rest of the South
A "Bully Pulpit" For Louisiana--And by extension for the rest of the South

by Al Benson Jr.

Member, Board of Directors, Confederate Society of America

Recently someone handed me a pamphlet which I found interesting and which I will quote from extensively in this article. It took information out of the book by Ron Kennedy Dixie Rising--Rules for Rebels that may be helpful to those struggling to preserve our culture, heritage and history here in the South where it is under unrelenting attack by the Marxists that seek our cultural destruction.

The pamphlet observed that "...the Bully Pulpit is a state-wide elected office in which the incumbent uses the prestige of the office to advance the cause of Southern and American Constitutional liberty. The office holder becomes the spokesman for the Cause not only in his state but across the South and the nation. He is central in organizing pro-liberty folks in every Southern state. By virtue of hs office, he generates public knowledge and enthusiasm for our Cause.."

When you look at the way leftist Democrats and Republicans and other assorted Marxists have trashed our history and culture in recent years you realize that something of this sort is sorely needed. Someone with official political standing needs to be there to speak up for Southern Heritage folks who have no political power or voice of their own.

The pamphlet notes: "Only power can counter power. They (the Marxists) have power, we do not. One person in a Bully Pulpit could arouse the general public to forceful political action. Southerners will follow a strong leader who uses his Bully Pulpit to organize a mass movement; a leader who has developed a strategic plan to defeat the neo-Marxist mobs and replace the current illegitimate, supreme federal government with a Constitutional Republic of Sovereign States secured by real States' Rights inclusive of the rights of state nullification and secession."

The person in the Bully Pulpit has to be one of us ordinary folks, and not a career politician looking to feather his future political nest and therefore willing to sell out to the highest bidder. He needs to be someone who is willing to spend a good part of his time defending the Cause rather than the political eggs in his basket.

The pamphlet states that this person "...must understand the necessity of using irregular political warfare to unseat the political status quo--a system that is designed to favor the ruling elites, while holding 'we the people' in check and under their control." This becomes especially important at a time when we risk having our national election stolen from us via massive fraud.

Dixie Rising Rules for Rebels states the following: "Consider the impact on recruiting of new supporters and members that the Bully Pulpit would have. Assume that we elect one of our own as Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana. In Louisiana, the Lt. Governor has almost no real duties and would therefore have plenty of time to travel across the South and otherwise promote our Cause. For example; if a Southern scholar or author were to be invited to speak to a gathering in Columbia, South Carolina, it would cause very little public notice. But if the Lt. Governor of Louisiana comes to town that would make a noticeable public impact. More people would attend the meeting; more people would be encouraged to support the Cause and the news media would report on the event." They might try to report negatively on it but they would have to cover it, much as they might hate to do so.

The pamphlet continues: "More detained information about the Bully Pulpit, irregular political warfare, Provisional Government, South-wide ballot initiatives, and our Sovereign State Amendment to the US Constitution can be found in the second edition (2020) Dixie Rising--Rules for Rebels Shotwell Publishing, Columbia, South Carolina. Our aim is not just to win an election--our aim is to win our Freedom."

Al Benson Jr.http://www.blogger.com/profile/07117500732087824225noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7292766.post-42468962858889065752020-12-09T09:43:00.001-08:002020-12-09T09:48:25.355-08:00 Even In Lincoln's Day Some Folks Recognized A Communist

by Al Benson Jr.

Member, Board of Directors, Confederate Society of America

Awhile back I printed off an article from https://www.jacobinmag.com by an Andre Fleche called America's First Red Scare. The article seemed to me to be a mix of truth and error and Mr. Fleche's somewhat left of center bias seemed to show through.

But he did get some things right. He noted: "Advocates from both sides argued their case in print and in public. Conservative newspapers warned Missouri's citizens to beware of heeding the advice of 'scarlet red speakers.' Good advice, for there were quite a few of those around even then. Contrary to what we have been taught, communism and socialism were problems in this country starting at least in the early 1850s and not in the 1950s as we have been told in what passes for history books today.

Fleche continued: "Slaveholders denounced abolitionists, immigrants, and activists as 'Pure red republicans! People rotten from the ground up, red all the way through to their kidneys'." That is true, but it was not only slaveholders that exposed them

Fleche observed that St. Louis Unionists armed themselves in order to prevent Missouri from seceding. He said: "Progressive Republicans, soldiers, and the German immigrant community took the lead. Revolutionary veterans from Europe, including such radicals as Heinrich Bornstein, editor of the St. Louis German language newspaper Anzeiger des Westens, played a prominent role in helping to organize the new Union volunteers." Notice Fleche's terminology here. "Progressive Republicans" Folks, that's just another term for socialist Republicans--the same kind of RINO's today that are willing to help the Democrats to try to defraud Trump of his legitimate vote count in the 2020 election.

Fleche's leftist bias bleeds through in his next comments. He tells us that "On May 10, 1861, the loyal regiments marched to the outskirts of town where they dispersed and disarmed a gathering of secessionist militias. As the victorious units marched their captives back through the city, radical journalists likened the scene to the revolution that had swept Europe in 1848." One of them wrote: "It was one of those splendid moments when emotion glowing deep in the heart of the masses suddenly breaks into wild flame." The captured Confederates took a little different view. They said "These reds and forty-eighters are to blame for everything." This according to one conservative editor--and he was pretty close to the actual truth there.

Fleche contended that Southern secession tried first and foremost to protect slavery in the South, which was a misnomer because Southerners could have stayed in the Union and still kept their slaves. Lincoln said as much. The second part of his contention was a little more accurate. He noted that "...by establishing a Southern nation, Confederates also sought to forestall progressive political and social change, which they believed threatened to transform the American republic."

Fleche observed, correctly, that "In the years before the Civil War, white Southern intellectuals grew increasingly worried about progressive Northern thinkers. During the 1840s and 1850s, Northern reformers had advocated not only abolitionism, but also working-class trade unionism and utopian socialism. The Yankee editor, Horace Greeley took the lead in popularizing radical politics. In the pages of his widely read newspaper, the New York Tribune, he exposed readers to the latest work of contemporary social theorists." One of those "contemporary social theorists" was Karl Marx, the supposed founder of present day communism. But, then, Greeley was, himself, a socialist. I have on my shelf a book by Charles Sotheran called Horace Greeley And Other Pioneers Of American Socialism. It was first published in 1915 and then again in 1971 by Haskell House Publishers in New York. I'm not sure if it's even still available.

Greeley wasn't the only socialist around back in the day. There were lots of them around, lots earlier than we'd like to think.

And there were even some similarities with our situation today. In Missouri, many of the radical Unionists were in the city of St. Louis, while much the rest of Missouri was pretty conservative. How well does that pattern hold true today, not only in Missouri but in many of our other states as well. You have conservatives and patriots in the more rural areas of the state but the big cities are mostly, with some exceptions, socialistic politically. Same when it comes to elections. The big cities usually vote socialist while the rest of the state votes conservative. I know it works that way in Louisiana. And it did in Illinois and Indiana when we were there.

Years ago Dr. Clyde Wilson wrote an informative series of columns called The Yankee Problem in America. He was right. I don't recall if Dr. Wilson ever wrote a book by that title or not. He may have. Problem is, a lot of those Yankees that have been such a problem have also been socialists, and therein lies part of the problem.
Al Benson Jr.http://www.blogger.com/profile/07117500732087824225noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7292766.post-26888342073442016912020-10-31T11:04:00.002-07:002020-10-31T11:08:31.315-07:00Liberty Flags of our Fathers--The Confederate Battle Flag
by Al Benson Jr.

Thanks to the professional South haters, both Democrats and Republicans, as well as the Marxist-oriented media and various Marxist groups the Confederate Battle Flag has gotten an undeserved bad rap. Any place the Battle Flag has been flown in the South in our day Southern scalawags have rushed in to attempt to remove it so they can display their utter obeisance to those that they think will further their political aspirations.

Admittedly, there have been some groups that have used the flag in an abusive manner, but such groups do not in any way reflect the true and noble heritage of the Battle Flag. Shallow thinkers contend that the Battle Flag represents slavery. Too often they refuse to learn the real history because to be confused with the facts might mean they had to retreat from their unjust criticisms and they are not about to do that. Life would have no meaning for them if they did.

The Battle Flag was only, ever, a soldier's flag, used by Confederate soldiers on the field of battle so as to differentiate their flags from the Yankee flags. It did not represent slavery because your average Confederate soldier did not fight to preserve or defend slavery. Their letters to their folks back home showed that. They fought to defend their God-given liberties and because they were invaded. A Confederate soldier was once asked why he fought the Yankees and his reply was "because you're here."

There has been much ado made over the origins of the Battle Flag. Many have said it had a religious origin while others have rushed in to stridently deny that. In the Southern Heritage Movement since I have been involved in it there have been two distinct groups--those who insist the the Movement and Confederate flags have a decided Christian origin and the opposing group that wants to leave any religious connection of the Confederacy out totally. I once had a shallow-thinking young man tell me "I am fighting for a flag, not a religion." He seemed to take some pride in that statement. He did not seem to grasp the fact that the flag he was "fighting for" had a religious significance and, had it not had that significance it would not have existed.

You may have guessed by now that I do not agree with those deniers that claim there was no religious significance to our flags or that they were totally secular. If the design of the Battle Flag was totally secular as some claim then why did it contain the St. Andrews Cross, which was and is a Christian symbol, the same as the one on the Scottish national flag? The St. Andrews Cross reflects the Celtic heritage of many in the South and many of those were and are today, Christian.

Pastor John Weaver wrote a book on why the Confederate Battle Flag was Christian in origin. He has been criticized for that effort by many who contend a totally secular view of the flag is mandated. I have seen some of Pastor Weaver's writing on this subject. I don't know if he got all the historical facts totally right or not. But by the same token, I don't think he got them all totally wrong either.

In my opinion I think the Confederate Battle Flag did, indeed, have a spiritual significance. Whether intended or not, it contained a powerful Christian symbol and I think this is one reason the political and theological leftists in our day hate it so much. They realize what many secular Southerners do not--that this flag is, indeed, a Christian symbol and seeing that I have two ancestors that were Scots Highlanders I recognize that also.

For all its imperfections the Old South was a biblically-based society and culture and I am convinced that is one reason why its history and heritage are under such virulent attack in our day. The politicians and other gutless wonders in Mississippi have just removed the Confederate symbol from their state flag. They were afraid to give the good citizens of their state a chance to have a referendum on whether they wanted this done or not. They just did it on their own. The citizens of Mississippi should remember that when these people run for office again.

The Confederate Battle Flag does not represent what its detractors claim it does. It represents the aspirations of those soldiers that fought for their liberties under its banner. As such it should always have a place of respect in our hearts and minds no matter what the world tries to tell us about it.
Al Benson Jr.http://www.blogger.com/profile/07117500732087824225noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7292766.post-33610082713946705062020-10-18T15:25:00.003-07:002020-10-18T17:14:54.541-07:00White Privilege--Is it really Red?
by Al Benson Jr.

Member, Board of Directors, Confederate Society of America

Recently I saw an article dealing with how the University of Minnesota plans to deal with what they consider is the main problem in the country today, "white privilege." Seeing that most university's and colleges in our day are dominated by Marxists of one stripe or another this should not be all that surprising.

The university is offering a 12-step program for Recovery from whiteness. Some of the steps are rather "interesting." Step one is We admitted that we have been socially conditioned by the ideology of white supremacy. Step 9 is We develop strategies to counteract our racial biases, and step 11 is We engage in daily practices of self-reflection. Sounds like something straight out of Mao's cultural revolution, and that's not really too far off base. You have to realize that as with many Marxist programs it is only a matter of time before they make it to our college campuses.

Self-criticism programs have been a hallmark of Marxist ideology for decades. Kyle Shideler has written on https://www.centerforsecuritypolicy.org that "After 9/11, American citizens were encouraged by leftists to ask 'Why do they hate us?' Today the same people, trained by years of victim-blaming to hold themselves accountable for terrorism both foreign and domestic are asking a similar question. 'What flaws in ourselves makes these nice mobs so angry?' The approved answer seems to be 'because of our white privilege, which must be dismantled.'"

So roving Marxist groups of Antifa and Black Lives Matter pillage and burn our cities and, somehow, that is our fault because of our "white privilege." The folks that really believe this have to be soft in the head. The people that fund and promote this Marxist terrorism don't believe this croc. They know better and part of their agenda is to make sure, via our managed media, that you don't find out the truth. Get over the fable that there is such a thing as the "news" media out there anymore. Most of what we still call journalists are little more than comrades for the Marxists. There are some exceptions but they are fewer and more hard to find as time goes on.

Shideler notes an organization called The National Museum of African American History and Culture, which is funded by American tax dollars. This outfit basically says that whites have most of the political power and economic power in this country and that all this is basically known as white privilege. Apparently if you are a white American it has all been easy street for you. So for all those black folks I know that drive newer cars then mine and live in fancier homes than I do, they are all victims of my white privilege. Right? Honestly, folks, do you really believe this tripe? If you do then the Marxists have penetrated your thinking. You've been watching too much of CNN or MSNBC.

Shideler noted that the various socialist groups that had agitated for decades in this country had failed to procure the revolution they desired. Some of them finally came up with the theory that "their problem was a lack of racial rather than class, consciousness which held back Marxist organizing in America."

He observed that "From his experience working to educate the working class about Communism, and drawing from the work of W.E.B. DuBois, Theodore Allen, a Communist Party member, finally hit on something. "He became convinced that the 'white working class' would never be compelled to rebel so long as they accepted 'white-skin privilege, which the capitalist system had evolved as an artificial but deeply-rooted method of control to divide the white working class from the black working class, preventing a united proletariat."

Also observed by Shideler was that: "Allen's partner in this effort and another leading theorist on 'White skin privilege was another former Communist Party member Noel Ignatiev..." I have written about both of these sterling individuals in the past, not recently, but a few years back. I knew Allen was a Communist. I wasn't sure about Ignatiev at that time. I should have known. He was writing about how horrible it was to be white over a decade ago that I remember.

These abbreviated comments should give you some idea of where the current craze over white privilege really comes from. It did not originate on the college campus. It was transported there by those Marxist personalities who seek to subvert the thinking of your kids.
Al Benson Jr.http://www.blogger.com/profile/07117500732087824225noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7292766.post-40196282263024915322020-08-22T14:56:00.000-07:002020-08-22T14:56:09.425-07:00Liberty Flags of our Fathers--The Bonnie Blue Flag
by Al Benson Jr.

Most Southern patriots are familiar with the Bonne Blue Flag and the song that goes along with it. For a long time I had a Bonnie Blue Flag flying at my house.

The history of that flag goes all the way back to the early 1800s all the way back to when Spain and France had a disagreement as to whether West Florida was included in the area each country claimed. When Thomas Jefferson made the Louisiana Purchase in 1803 he sort of inherited the debate. The inhabitants of West Florida were mostly people that spoke English and they were not real happy with either France or Spain, neither of which could deal with them in English.

A revolt took place in West Florida in 1803, led by the three Kemper Brothers. And while it was not successful, it told the Spanish they had better start taking the English-speaking folks in West Florida a bit more seriously. So Spain started dribbling out a few more liberties to them. A second revolt ensued in 1810, led by a Major Isaac Johnson He led a march to the capital in Baton Rouge, which was captured in late September of that year. A new flag was then raised over the fort there, which consisted of a single white star on a field of dark blue. Shortly afterward a Declaration of Independence was passed and the Republic of West Florida came into being. The same flag was then adopted as their national flag.

The Republic was rather short-lived. In late October U. S. President James Madison proclaimed that West Florida was, in reality, part of the Louisiana Territory. The U. S. flag was then raised over the fort, but, by this juncture, the image of the Bonnie Blue Flag had burned itself into the memories of the Southern folks in that area as a symbol of liberty.

When the Republic of Texas came into being a similar flag was adopted, with Texas still being known as the Lone Star State. And in January of 1861, when Mississippi seceded from the Union and established the Republic of Mississippi, another blue flag with a single star was raised in Jackson.

In the audience at that event in Jackson was an Irish actor named Harry McCarthy. He was inspired to compose lyrics pertaining to the flag and he set them to a tune from where he was born. He called his turn The Bonnie Blue Flag.

Some say this became the first flag of The Confederate States, but there is some debate over that. Whether it was accurate or not, the Bonnie Blue became, at least, an unofficial Confederate flag and still is today. The lyrics of McCarthy's tune are still enough, even today, to stir the hearts of Southern patriots. If you want to see or hear the words of the song just go on the net and type in Lyrics for the Bonnie Blue Flag into a search engine. You will probably find several different videos or sets of lyrics for the tune.
Al Benson Jr.http://www.blogger.com/profile/07117500732087824225noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7292766.post-23178004651622596422020-02-02T21:18:00.000-08:002020-02-02T21:18:30.124-08:00The Liberty Flags Of Our FathersAm doing a series of articles on the liberty flags of our fathers, those flags that were symbols of our God-given liberty, flags we all remember and revere. The fact that many of these flags are under virulent assault in our day should tell us that our history and culture as well as our liberty are also under assault. We had better wake up and realize this, lest we end up forfeiting, through our complacency, the legacy God has bequeathed to us, an action, or lack thereof, for which we shall be judged.

What better place to start than with the Betsy Ross Flag? This is, after all, the flag that professional America hater Colin Kaepernick, formerly of the National Football League, loves to hate. That fact in itself should commend it to us. Here is a guy who can't even bring himself to stand for the National Anthem or the flag, and our kids are supposed to emulate him? Please give me a break!

Back in July, 2019, I read an article on www.newsweek.com about Comrade Kaepernick's reaction to a new tennis shoe that NIKE was going to put out with the Betsy Ross Flag displayed on the shoes. This incensed Kaepernick no end and he said he had a problem because the flag was "...offensive due to its connection to the United States slavery era." This according to the Wall Street Journal. If this is accurate, then I suppose that every American symbol before the slaves were emancipated in late 1865 is a problem for Kaepernick and others of his ilk. So let's get rid of all the pictures of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson because, after all, they were slave owners. Do you begin to see how ludicrous this sort of specious reasoning is? In other words, everything and everyone in America was evil before December of 1865, which includes Abraham Lincoln, because the slaves were not really freed until after he had been dead for several months.

In doing research on our flags, you'd be surprised how many "historians" claim almost no authenticity for any of them. The Newsweek article was typical of this. It said: "While general perception has held Ross was solely responsible for designing the flag, some scholars have suggested she was just one of many seamstresses in Pennsylvania at the time that took part in the project." What scholars? Newsweek doesn't reveal this "fact."

Betsy Ross was born Elizabeth Griscom in January of 1752 to a Quaker family. She was apprenticed to an upholsterer when she was 17,and sometime thereafter, she met John Ross, also an apprentice and an Anglican, with whom she fell in love. As a Quaker she couldn't marry outside her faith and so was expelled from her local Quaker meeting. But, on her own, she and her husband opened an upholstery business.

John passed away in 1776 due to an accident and so Betsy continued the upholstery business on her own. She made flags for Pennsylvania and the American Revolution. According to one source, "..she was paid 14 pounds in 1777 for making 'ship colours for the Pennsylvania State Navy Board."

Betsy remarried twice and was widowed both times. She lived to be 84 years old, but the story about the first American flag she made wasn't made public until almost 50 years after she died. William Canby was Betsy's grandson and he first told the story of the Betsy Ross Flag to the Historical Society of Pennsylvania in 1870. According to William, Betsy made the first American flag "...in the spring of 1776 following a visit from General George Washington , Robert Morris, and her husband's uncle, Colonel George Ross. During the visit, the men allegedly showed Betsy a sketch of a flag containing thirteen red and white stripes and 6-pointed white stars, and asked if she could make it. Betsy accepted the offer, but suggested changing the 6-pointed stars to easier 5-pointed stars and arranging them in a circle--the very same design that was officially adopted by Congress one year later on June 14, 1777." This account was supported by affidavits from Betsy's daughter, niece and granddaughter, and thus the "story of the Betsy Ross Flag became forever stitched into the fabric of American history."

Just this evening (Dec 4th) I read an article on the Zero Hedge site by Michael Snyder that was originally on The End of The American Dream blog.

This grabbed my attention because I have recently done a few articles on public education for my Revised History blog spot. All things considered, I felt it was about time to do another one for The Copperhead Chronicle blog, and what more important issue to do one on than what passes for education in this country. Many may feel I have been beating a dead horse regarding the education issue, but Mr. Snyder's article should show folks that this is one horse that needs to be beaten, and it will also show that I am not the only one that feels this way.

Mr. Snyder makes some astute comments on what passes for public education in this country. He says: "How in the world is America supposed to remain 'the greatest country on earth' when other nations are absolutely running circles around us when it comes to education? As you will see below, one survey found that 15-year-old students in China are almost four full grade levels ahead of students in the United States in mathematics. This is one of the most damning indictments of our education system that I have ever come across, and it is yet another clear indication that what we are doing is simply not working. Our children are not being given the tools they need to compete in our modern society, and we have only ourselves to blame. Perhaps you are thinking the survey must be flawed somehow."

Well, not quite. Mr. Snyder noted that this was not some one-horse survey given to a mere handful of students in East Overshoe, Alabama. Snyder informs us that: "Ever three years, the Program for International Student Assessment evaluyates 15-year-old students all over the world in a variety of subject areas, and in 2018 approximately 32 million students participated...when your sample size is 32 million students, I think it is safe to say that the results of the survey should be taken seriously. And what the survey discovered is the U.S. students continue to fall behind in math. In particular, we have fallen way, way behind the Chinese...In addition, the survey also discovered that the 'most disadvantaged' students in China actually performed on a par with the average U.S. student...What in the world has happened to us? We used to have the best education system in the entire world, but now we have become a nation of drooling idiots that can't even think straight."

Other items in this article show that it is in other areas besides math that our students are more than intellectually challenged.

It was noted that "One recent survey found that 74% of Americans don't even know how many amendments are in the Bill of Rights...Shockingly, only 26% of Americans can name all three branches of government...During the 2016 election, more than 40% of Americans did not know who was running for vice-president from either of the major parties...30 years ago, the United States awarded more high school diplomas than anyone in the world. Today, we have fallen to 36th place." And even that last statistic about the diplomas does not indicate how many of the kids that got one really earned one thirty years ago, because our public school system has been systemically broken for lots longer than that.

The material in this article is not presented to we will all see the need to reform the public school system, start attending our local parent/teacher meetings or any of the other blather put forth to preserve and defend our public schools. Quite the contrary. This material is presented so that parents, particularly Christian parents can see, if they have their kids in public schools, that this is a system that will never be fixed or reformed no matter how many millions are poured into it. The more money spent on it the worse it gets. Parents, you need to start grasping one thing. the public school system does not exist to educate your children. It exists to indoctrinate them according to the wishes of the New World Order--so that, in the end, they will belong to the State and not to their families.

I realize that when I was young and attended public schools they had prayer and Bible reading and all the other amenities guaranteed to keep people putting their kids in them. But in due time, all those amenities disappeared and the public school's real agenda is now openly manifested via the Drag Queens, the explicit sex education classes and the rotten excuse for history taught in most of them. You are seeing public education today in its true light--if you are willing to take a look. Again, I am not saying all public school teachers buy into this junk. Lots of them don't, but they are, in a sense, captive to a system that does.

Literally, over the decades, I have spent time documenting the glaring intentional deficiencies of the public schools, so I am not going to go into that here and now. Check out some of the articles about education I have posted on my Revised History blog since 2011. There is a batch of them, some only posted recently. If you want to save your kids' souls, you need to get them out of public schools and into some sort of Christian education. It is as simple as that.

Well, we heard for weeks how this new, secret whistleblower was going to tell us all what Comrade Adam Schiff wanted us all to hear about Trump's "impeachable offenses."

So now this secret whistleblower has finally been outed. They are pretty sure just who he is. And guess what, he is nothing more than yet another partisan Democrat hack who worked for John Brennan at the CIA. Is anyone really surprised?

According to an article by Paul Sperry on https://www.realclearinvestigations.com from October 30th "Federal documents reveal that the 33-year old (Eric) Ciaramella, a registered Democrat held over from the Obama White House, previously worked with former Vice President Joe Biden and former CIA Director John Brennan, a vocal critic of Trump who helped initiate the Russia 'collusion' investigation of the Trump campaign during the 2016 election. Further, Ciaramella left his National Security Council posting in the White House's West Wing in mid-2017 amid concerned about negative leaks to the media. He has since returned to CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia. 'He was accused of working against Trump and leaking against Trump,' said a former NSC official, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss intelligence matters."

It seems as if Trump has had a major problem getting rid of Obama holdovers in his administration. Most of his problems seem to stem from the fact that he has lots of nasty opponents in his administration that should have been deep sixed and they are hanging in there cutting his political throat. He does not seem to be aware of the damage those people can and are doing to him. Oh he has finally become aware of what Brennan, Clapper, and some of the big wigs can do to him, but all the moles that worked for those Deep Staters still seem to be around and it's almost as if Trump seems unaware of their presence until they rear back and bite him on the hand.

This is the Deep State in living color--trying to shut Trump down before Durham and his investigation can reveal all the crap the Deep State denizens have been involved in and make it public. Once that happens they, hopefully, will be running for cover so fast they won't have time to continue to try to cut Trump's political throat. Of course if that happens they may resort to "other options."

All you have to do to realize that the Deep State is a living reality is look at what they have continued to do to Trump since his election. What other president in our lifetime has ever gone through three years of political bovine fertilizer after his election? None, you say. Exactly! What does that tell you? It tells me that all the other presidents in our lifetime have been acceptable to the Deep State and so none of them has ever been forced to go through what Trump has. Nixon had Watergate, but that was because he had worked against Alger Hiss in the 1950s and the Deep State never forgave him for that one political indiscretion, even though his later actions showed he had repented of it.

As long as Trump is in office the Deep State will continue to try to remove him. They don't dare do anything else because, for all his problems, Trump is not one of them and they can't afford to have someone in the presidency that is not one of their own. So, unless Trump ends up throwing in the towel for some reason, look for this kind of sabotage/coup against him to go on and on and on.

You bet they are!by Al Benson Jr.

The following commentary came from the Breitbart site and is by Pastor Robert Jeffress.

The pastor said:
"Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats can't put down the Impeachment match. They know they couldn't beat him in 2016 against Hillary Clinton, and they're increasingly aware of the fact that they won't win against him in 2020, and Impeachment is the only tool they have to get rid of Donald J. Trump--And the Democrats don't care if they burn down and destroy this nation in the process. I have never seen the Evangelical Christians more angry over any issue than this attempt to illegitimately remove this President from office, overturn the 2016 election and negate the votes of millions of Evangelicals in the process. They know that the only Impeachable offense that President Trump has committed was beating Hillary Clinton in 2016. That's the unpardonable sin for which the Democrats will never forgive him. If the Democrats are successful in removing the President from office (which they never will be) It will cause a Civil War like fracture in this nation from which our country will never heal."

That's a pretty good statement for an Evangelical pastor. Many of them do not show that much discernment. As far as tearing the country down, the Demoncrats couldn't care less. They are perfectly willing to do that and more--if it will satisfy their masters in the bowels of the Deep State. Most of the Demoncrats are nothing but political shills for the Deep State anyway.

As far as Evangelical Christians getting angry if Trump is removed from office, I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens there. It has been my experience over the decades that Evangelicals seldom get angry over things they should get ticked about but don't bother. I hope this pastor is right about this, but if it doesn't turn out quite like he thinks it will, I won't be surprised.

I guess I shouldn't have to mention that, if they do impeach Trump, the country as we know it will be gone forever, or at least as far into the future as we can see.

The Demoncrats want to tear down America for a mess of socialist, one-world, pottage. Do they care about ordinary folks and what all this will do to us? Don't make me laugh!

The New World Order beckons these apostate Demoncrats and they can't wait to drag us into it kicking and screaming. In fact, they look forward to that--and to our destruction. Anyone who still thinks you can reason with them is a candidate for the rubber room.

Those people have to be resisted by every legal and lawful means possible.

Do you think Democrats are really concerned about gun violence in this country? If you do then you have to be kidding, right? If the truth be known, Democrats couldn't care less about national gun violence but they care everything about confiscating guns from law abiding citizens. Their true concern is that honest folks be disarmed so they are defenseless. As for disarming the gang-bangers, they have no interest whatever in doing that. What does that tell you? It tells me that the Democrats have more in common with the gangbangers than they do with honest people.

But, then, that should come as no surprise.

I just this week read an article on G. Edward Griffin's Need To Know website that dealt with this subject. The article stated: "Democrats advanced a new measure this week to encourage states to pass "red flag" laws authorizing the removal of guns and ammunition from individuals deemed as dangerous by any anonymous, unaccountable person, but it would not include the already existing lists of violent gang members. Republicans tried to add an amendment to include known gang members, but the Democrats will not permit it, despite the fact that gangs are causing most of the gun violence. The amendment failed. (This is further evidence that Congress has no interest in reducing violence in America but, instead, wants law-abiding citizens disarmed.)

I couldn't agree with Mr. Griffin more. Gun confiscation of the weapons of honest citizens is really what it is all about.

The gun-owning American public had better start waking up and realizing that the feds are really after your guns, Trump's support for the Second Amendment notwithstanding.

You watch, if push really comes to shove, Trump will probably cave and give the gun grabbers at least some of what they want--the camel's nose inside the gun owners' tent! I think Trump has, whether he even realizes it or not, some sort of desire to be loved by even his enemies and he seems to think that caving in to them will, somehow, make them "like" him more. If that is how he really feels then he does not begin to understand his cultural Marxist adversaries.

After all, he defeated their candidate in 2016. They will never forget that and they will never forgive Trump for that. Not if he lived to be a thousand would they forget!

There is no forgiveness among the cultural Marxists, ever, there is only an insatiable desire to get even with their enemies, to stomp, crush, and tear down anyone that dares to see the world in a different light than they do. Their penchant for cultural destruction is never ending. And if they ever, God forbid, get to where they have rubbed out all their enemies then they will turn on each other. The Revolution truly eats its own if given long enough.

So, when it comes to protecting your Second Amendment rights, I would not put much faith in Congress, because most of "those people" seek to remove your God-given rights. Oh, there are a handful of good folks in Washington, but I am afraid just not enough.

Organizations like the Gun Owners of America have done yeoman duty in working to protect our Second Amendment rights, and they can use all the help and support you can give them. But unless more gun owners wake up and realize that, in the long run, Trump is not going to help them, then we are going to have a real confiscation problem.

I don't know how I can say it any plainer than that!Al Benson Jr.http://www.blogger.com/profile/07117500732087824225noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7292766.post-85246319381639185152019-08-31T20:02:00.000-07:002019-09-01T10:33:22.283-07:00The Shootings Will Continue Until We Get Gun Confiscationby Al Benson Jr.

Well, wonder of wonders, we have yet another shooting in West Texas. Is anyone surprised? It seems as if we have a new shooting somewhere about once every three weeks now.

And you know what all the politicians are going to say now--"Why doesn't Trump do something about all this?" There will be more howls for unconstitutional "Red Flag" laws and some of the more radical Demoncrats will be hollering for total gun confiscation. Because, in the final analysis that is what all these shootings are really all about. They are geared to force Trump into doing something about gun control that will alienate his political base and these shootings will continue until he does just that. Once he does that, watch and see if the shootings don't ease off.

Am I suggesting there is some sort of anti-Second Amendment agenda at work here? Oh heavens no! Why I'd be the absolute last one to ever suggest that! Let's just say that all these shootings in the frequency of their occurrence is simply an amazing coincidence. That's all, folks, just a series of coincidences. Nothing to see here so just move along.

We better come to grips with the fact that there is an anti-gun agenda at work here and the dissolution of our Second Amendment rights is the name of the game. Contact your congress critters and tell them to vote NO on anymore gun control bills, otherwise you will work to defeat them in the next election.

The would-be Mexican Irish person, Beto O'Rourke says he will, if elected president, force people to sell their guns to the government. This is nothing other than more gun control under a different name.Al Benson Jr.http://www.blogger.com/profile/07117500732087824225noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7292766.post-69187995097709006492019-08-07T19:58:00.000-07:002019-08-07T19:59:49.161-07:00Mass Murders Be Hanged--Gun Confiscation Is the Name of the Gameby Al Benson Jr.

Who would have thought that during the administration of Donald Trump we would have had to worry about gun control and/or gun confiscation? Just goes to show you that, in the political realm nothing happens by accident and you can trust almost no one.

You might say, in our present circumstances "The shootings will continue until the attitude toward gun control improves." Many naïve people think that, once all the guns are confiscated from honest people then all the shootings will cease. I've got news for you "useful idiots" who think that. It won't happen that way. Once the criminal element figures out that no one our there can fight back their criminal excursions will markedly increase because they will know that no one will have the means to resist what they do.

And don't kid yourselves for even a little minute. The people in Washington WANT YOUR GUNS, all of your guns and they don't give a hoot about what the criminals can do to you. Their agenda is to disarm honest people. That's all they're concerned about. They have been told to get the guns, any way they have to and they don't look beyond that. Most of them live in gated communities or have armed guards, so they couldn't care less what happens to you or your families. Their families will be secure--the hell with yours!

Trump now claims he is in favor of background checks for guns. Doesn't he realize that background checks are but the precursor to confiscation? He should have figured that out by now. And he wants Red Flag laws about guns, which means that some bureaucrat in Washington will get to decide who is a potential threat and the feds will just move in and take his guns, even though he has committed no crime. In other words, he's guilty until proven innocent!

Trump has got to realize that if he continues to go along with this insanity then he stands a good chance of alienating his base of voters. This is NOT what they elected him for. They elected him to prevent this sort of thing and now he is going along with it.

Everyone out there needs to contact their senators and tell them to vote against any new gun control measures, and let them know that if they support any new gun control measures then you will work to expose and defeat them in 2020.

We didn't elect Trump so he could cave in to the gun grabbers. Hillary would have done that. I expected better than that from Trump. Maybe I was naïve. Maybe my confidence was misplaced?Al Benson Jr.http://www.blogger.com/profile/07117500732087824225noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7292766.post-59824608254672732232019-06-02T16:13:00.001-07:002019-06-02T16:18:08.013-07:00Public Schools Are A Dismal Failure
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">by Al Benson Jr.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Today, June 2, 2019, I read an excellent article on the Zero Hedge website. It was authored by Justin Spears via the Foundation for Economic Education. I would urge concerned parents to check it out.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Mr. Spears starts out with: "In the first part of this article set, my colleague Mike Margeson spelled out the historical roots of the American schooling system. He clearly laid out the blueprint that men like Horace Mann used to build a system that does anything but 'educates'." What he is saying here is that Unitarian Horace Mann provided this country with an "educational system" that was, essentially worthless! Seeing that Mann's main intent was not to educate but to downplay the influence of Christian schools in this country, I am not surprised. Mann has a reputation as an inventive educator that is not deserved.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">And Mr. Spears continued: "In what was one of many fiery speaking engagements, the late John Taylor Gatto delivered a line that has resonated with me as I have studied the effects the public schooling system has on children. In this particular speech, Gatto was recounting the story of Jaime Escalante, the educator who successfully taught calculus at Garfield High School in Los Angeles yet was forced to resign. As he finishes describing the trials and fate of Escalante, Gatto explains that above racism and other forms of bigotry is the embedded idea that what really occurred was a deliberate attempt to stop genuine learning: Earlier in the speech Gatto laid out a compelling case of how and why schooling is meant to keep citizens ignorant. This success at an inner city school was not going to be tolerated by the establishment. He implored his listeners to understand the real problem and to quit 'fencing with shadows'."
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">In other words, people needed to get over the naïve idea that throwing millions in public money at public schools was ever going to do any good. All that ever did was to make a bad problem even worse!
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Noted by Mr. Spears was the fact that: "Contrary to what those in public education will tell you, the system is flush with cash, which generates very few positive results." Mr. Spears notes that, in 2019, after all the money that has been spent of public education, ...we are still seeing such horrific results in our schools...The answer is much simpler than it has been made out to be. The system is broken. There is no remedy to fix this system. It is fundamentally flawed. The famous saying that you cannot fix a problem with the same mind that created it rings so true. So if reform will not work, what are we to do?"
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Again, the answer to this is so simple the educational establishment hopes you never figure it out. You simply need to unschool! He notes that there are several methods to accomplish the task of unschooling, and one of them is homeschooling. This does not mean that you never educate your kids or teach them anything. It means that you do not do it the way the public schools claim to be trying to do it. You, especially if you are a Christian, need to get your kids out of the public school system--a system that has been engineered to keep them ignorant--and they are especially being kept ignorant of their real history and heritage, which is one of the main agendas of public education in our day.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">If there is no real way to reform this broken system then it needs to be separated from, seceded from, if you will. Lots of folks don't want to hear this. They need to. They need to begin to realize what is happening to their kids while they are in public schools--and what's happening to them ain't good!
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">If you can, check our Mr. Spears' article. Don't take my word for it. Find our yourselves.Al Benson Jr.http://www.blogger.com/profile/07117500732087824225noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7292766.post-42102180159574329932019-06-01T20:29:00.001-07:002019-06-27T12:11:38.658-07:00Lincoln assassination series bookletCheck out series of articles about Lincoln assassination on

My blog spot https://revisedhistory.wordpress.com for the month of May carried a whole batch of articles dealing with the assassination of Abraham Lincoln and how we have been lied to about all that was involved with that.

If all goes well, I plan to put all these articles in a little booklet and try to get this out to some folks who may not have seen the articles.

Any of you all who have read them and found them helpful, if you could pass this word along to folks who may not have seen them, I would be appreciative. I will probably have to make a small charge for them to pay for printing costs, but it should be minimal. I would appreciate it if you would pass this word along to your lists.

Member, Board of Directors, Confederate Society of America

Most of us have read about the reparations scam over the years. It seems as though it resurfaces every three or four years and some socialist or group of socialists pushes it for awhile, but can't quite get enough traction for it and so it goes the way of the Dodo Bird for awhile and resides in political limbo until the next bunch of socialists comes along and tries again.

Let's be honest here, folks. This is one issue that will never completely go away, as the possibilities for redistributing the wealth with something like this are so strong that the socialists and other Marxists among us just can't bear to turn loose of it.

I noticed an article on LewRockwell.com for February 26th by Pat Buchanan about this. Pat observed: "Having embraced 'Medicare-for-all' free college tuition and a Green New Deal that would mandate an early end of all oil, gas and coal-fired power plants, the Democratic Party's lurch to the left rolls on. Presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren both called last week for race-based reparations for slavery.

Should you wonder what "race-based" reparations for slavery means, it means that only white folks will get taken to the cleaners for this scam and no one else has to worry. This makes it a patently dishonest scheme right from the git-go as anyone with a brain should be able to figure out.

The slavery situation in this country has always been a complex issue. It was never a situation where all white folks held all black folks in perpetual bondage, regardless of what your "history" professors (what a laugh) have told you.

You had a situation in this country with slavery, which existed in all the original 13 colonies, both north and south and in states in both areas after the War for Independence was over. Slavery in the North didn't disappear until the early decades of the 19th century--1810-1840 and even later in some Northern states.

Then you had a problem with who owned the slaves, and all the slaveowners were not white folks. Some were, but there were also blacks that owned slaves, and American Indians that owned slaves.

So the question arises, at least to me, and I hope to a bunch of other folks too, as to just how these "race-based" reparations are supposed to be paid. Are descendants of black slave owners going to be forced to pay reparations to the descendants of black slaves they owned? Will descendants of American Indian slave owners be forced to do the same? Or, as I suggested earlier, will this con game be only for fleecing white folks?

And what about all the white folks that never owned any slaves? Do their descendants get to pay too? I'd be willing to bet they do.

I mentioned that Kamala Harris was one of those pushing this foolishness. I ran across a short article on https://ussanews.com that stated: "Presidential Candidate, Senator Kamala Harris claimed she supports Reparations for African-Americans but forgot to mention that her ancestors owned slaves...The thing is, Kamala's ancestors used to own slaves--according to her own father...According to Kamala Harris' father, the Democratic presidential hopeful's great-grandmom was a Jamaican slave plantation owner who founded the city of Brown's Town."

That raises some interesting questions. Would Harris, who is a least partly black, be entitled to reparations, or would she have to pay reparations, seeing that her ancestors owned a slave plantation? Of course that was in Jamaica, so it might not apply here, but there might be people here that would find themselves in that boat. So who would end up paying who?

I'd like to see someone address the issue of whether black descendants of black slave owners would have to pay reparations. And how do we go about determining which blacks were here since slave days as opposed to some that have come here from other places since slavery ended. What about all the blacks up in Minnesota from Somalia that have come here in the last three decades from Africa? Are you going to tell me they are entitled to reparations too, even though their ancestors were never slaves here? I surely hope not because if you do, you will not be enamored of my response.

I can't get over the sneaky feeling that this scam is directed at white folks to con them into feeling guilty enough over slavery that they'd be willing to fork over something to expiate their supposed guilt. Let me be blunt here. Since no one alive today has ever lived under slavery in this country and since there have not been any slave owners in this country since the passage of the second 13th Amendment, then no one owes anyone else a thin dime for "slavery reparations." It's that simple, and I honestly believe that all these Demoncrat political fakers who push this drivel fully realize that fact. I think they are trying to build themselves giant voting blocs for the upcoming 2020 elections.

They want to appear sympathetic to the great toiling masses in this country that are not white so they can howl about how they are trying to help out minority voters. It's all a croc, or as they say in West Texas, a pile of cow chips! They don't care about minorities anymore than they care about us deplorable white folks. What they care about are money and power and they are willing to prostitute themselves to those ends.

To say they are pathetic would be to pay them a complement.Al Benson Jr.http://www.blogger.com/profile/07117500732087824225noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7292766.post-75636459117988808112019-01-18T20:25:00.001-08:002019-01-18T20:30:42.853-08:00"Beware the Ides of March"
